1. Our Role

Merit Bold operates as a commercial trades and maintenance opportunity network. Our role is to connect UK businesses with independent commercial contractors. We are an introduction and facilitation platform — not a contractor, employer, or trade service provider.

2. Contractor Independence

All contractors listed on or referred through the Merit Bold network are independent businesses operating under their own company registration, insurance, and professional certifications. Merit Bold does not employ, subcontract, or supervise any contractor.

3. Certification & Insurance

Merit Bold aims to verify key certifications, insurance, and trade registrations before approving contractors to join our network. However:

Certifications and insurance are independently maintained by the contractor
Status may change between verification periods
Merit Bold does not guarantee the ongoing validity of any certification
Businesses are encouraged to request and verify current documentation directly from the contractor before engaging their services

4. Quality of Work

While Merit Bold reviews contractors for professionalism, responsiveness, and commercial suitability, we cannot guarantee the quality, timeliness, or outcome of any work performed. The contractual relationship for any work undertaken exists solely between the business and the contractor.

5. Due Diligence

Businesses using the Merit Bold platform should carry out their own appropriate due diligence when selecting and engaging contractors. This may include:

Verifying current certifications and insurance
Agreeing scope of work, timelines, and pricing in writing
Confirming compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
Reviewing references or previous work where appropriate

6. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes regarding work quality, payment, or contractual obligations should be resolved directly between the business and the contractor. Merit Bold may assist with communication where possible but is not a party to any agreement between a business and a contractor.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Merit Bold accepts no liability for:

The quality, safety, or legality of work performed by any contractor
Any loss, damage, or injury arising from work arranged through our platform
Contractor availability or responsiveness
Accuracy of contractor-provided information
